About Rev. G.

Rev. G. is originally from South Texas.  Born to Hispanic parents, his first language is Spanish, but he is also fluent in English - proficient in French and Italian.

He has a BA in Communications from The University of North Texas and an MA in Spiritual Psychology from The University of Santa Monica.  Rev. G. was ordained and received a Bachelor of Divinity from the Universal Brotherhood Movement in 2001, in recognition of distinguished achievement in ministerial counseling and metaphysical healing.  In 2002, he was attuned and certified as a Reiki Master by Francesca de Picciotto, MD.

Rev. G. has been providing Spiritual Counseling, Reiki and Life-Coaching skills since  2002.  He's also developed a brand of therapy based on portrait photography.  Some of his clients who choose this form of "play" therapy get a make up and coaching session that prepares him/her for their photo shoot.  During this photo session, Rev. G. focuses on both the inner and outer beauty of his client, who experiences an incredibly uplifting transformation when they see themsevles as he sees them.

In his spiritual counseling practice, Rev. G. specializes in helping people who are survivors of abuse and who suffer from depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.  He works with children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced or are experiencing abuse and/or are being bullied because of their differences (including sexual preference). He also works with couples who are willing to work out their differences - from their commitment to themselves, each other and their relationship.

In 2003, as part of fulfilling the requirements for his MA in Spiritual Psychology, Rev. G. created ArteSano, an innovative curriculum using art as a means of teaching life-skills to children of all ages.  He taught the ArteSano curriculum to young kids attending KidTribe events and at Camp Planet Janet, in Los Angeles, CA.  He also taught ArteSano to At Risk-Inner City children at Para Los Niños (a non-profit, after school program in L.A.).  In 2005, Rev. G. facilitated an ArteSano workshop for the Los Angeles Department of Education during a weekend workshop for teachers.  Later that same year he faciliated an ArteSano workshop for adults as part of a retreat on a cruise to Alaska.

In 2006, Rev. G. co-founded Conscoius Mile Spiritual Center with Rev. David Ault, in Mobile, AL.  From 2006 to 2008, he served as head of the children's program at Conscious Mile, where he incorporated the ArteSano curriculum as a tool for teaching Science of Mind principles during their Sunday school program.

In 2008, Rev. G. along with Rev. David Ault and nine other people traveled to Thailand and Cambodia.  In Cambodia, the group purchased school supplies and donated the supplies to the children that attend the floating schools on the Tunle Sap river in Siem Reep.  The group also purchased two water wells to bring clean and fresh water to people that didn't have any.

Also In 2008, Rev. G. moved to the island of Oahu in Hawaii, where from 2008 to 2010, he had the priveledge of providing essential life-skills training to children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities such as Down's Syndrome, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADD, ADHD, Anxiety and Depression.  While working with these children, he received training in applied behavior analysis and early intervention, using discreet trial and applied verbal behavior training.

Currently, Rev. G. teaches Positive Parenting and Anger Management classes at the Family Center in Mobile, AL, supervising non-custodial parents during visitations as well as monitoring the exchanges between parents who share custody of their child/children.  He is also serving as the activies coordinator in the Psychiatric Department at The Mobile Infirmary, where he is responsible for providing effective and efficient therapeutic activities and for meeting the individual needs of the patients through entertainment, socialization, relaxation, creativity, mental stimulation and life skills - supporting them in  fulfilling their basic psychological and spiritual needs.
